About Me
I suppose it's possible you've somehow followed somebody else's link or otherwise arrived at this site without having the foggiest idea who's written all this drivel. Well here's the bit where you find out.
First of all the usual basic details. My name is Iain (yes I do have a surname, no I'm not going to put it on this page [a probably fruitless attempt to keep the search engine robots guessing!]), I'm 38 years old (born the day Apollo 12 launched if you want some useless trivia). I was brought up in Chingford which sits right where London meets Epping Forest, giving (IMO) the best of both worlds, both country and city life. Despite having moved about a bit since then, I now live a mere 5km or so away, in South Woodford -- very unadventurous!

I've currently work at the BBC as a software engineer for Learning and Interactive, where I'm involved in writing and supporting the software that's used to power many of their websites. Much of this involves messing around with Perl and is generally quite an enjoyable job.
When I'm not at work, chances you'll find me either zooming around Essex on my motorbike, fiddling with my computers at home, wasting my life away at a pub or just spending time with my wife, Althea. You'll find links telling you more about these things on the menu bar, should you be that way inclined. There's also a link which tells you how to get in touch with me if you want to know anything that isn't written here.
I'm also an official Google Answers researcher, which means I can get paid for browsing the web in my spare time. Sometimes life really can be quite good! If you're particularly bored, feel free to have a look at my witterings about life and whatever takes my fancy.
Scratch your head in bewilderment at my eclectic musical tastes by viewing what I've been listening to on my AudioScrobbler page.
